The
500 Hour Spanda Yoga Movement Therapy training program's focus
is on meeting the needs of individuals or groups with a targeted
goal in mind. A class or session could address specific health
challenges, repetitive strain issues of use and misalignment,
performance analysis and coaching for athletes and performing
artists, or other impediments to the evolution of consciousness.
|
 |
| |
Graduates
are prepared to offer instruction in private and semi-private
settings, design tailored group classes for specific needs,
and complement integrative approaches to wellness and health
care. |
 |
| |
The program is oriented around the idea that wellness
is a continuum of personal evolution. A yoga practice that incorporates awareness of the integral nature of our
layers of being has the power to unleash our inner drive and reveal our life's purpose. The yoga movement
therapist serves students and clients by creating the conditions for this process of opening. |
 |
| |
Course
content areas will expand on the 200 hour Teacher Training
program with greater focus on multi-level observations and
personalized strategies for transformation. Energy and Consciousness,
Holistic Foundations, Integrative Avenues to Wellness, and
Healing as Transformation are the core sections through which
Ashtanga Yoga, Spontaneous Movement and Movement Analysis,
Experiential Anatomy, and Lifestyle Guidance are interwoven
to create this reorganizing approach to transformation. |

The 500 Hour Program
continues from the Yoga Alliance registered 200 Hour Spanda: The Yoga of Movement Teacher Training, or can be
joined once one has completed a Yoga Alliance registered 200-Hour program. In this case, an orientation module
must be included in the curriculum. Applicants who have not completed a Yoga Alliance registered 200 Hour
training program, but have completed equivalent training, will be considered if documentation of all training
is provided. |
 |
| |
Beginning
2008: Modular Programs will be offered in the United
States. The modules will be based on an extended weekend
format. A Summer Intensive Program will also be offered
in Umbria, Italy. The 2008 schedule for both programs will
be posted on March 1, 2007, and will detail specifics of
the courses offered.
